A brand-new venue is set to breathe new life into the former Sticky Fingers site in Cardiff, combining food, drink and live entertainment under one roof.
Stage & Stem is preparing to open as a unique performance-led bistro, café and bar, bringing together a dining experience with a purpose-built theatre and events space in the heart of the city.
Inspired by the charm of Parisian bistros with a contemporary theatrical twist, the new venue aims to become a destination from morning through to late evening.
By day, visitors can expect speciality coffee, brunch, light lunches or enjoy a leisurely meal. As the evening arrives, Stage & Stem will transform into an intimate performance venue, serving signature cocktails, wines, craft beers and sharing plates alongside a packed programme of live entertainment.
From theatre productions and cabaret to stand-up comedy, jazz, acoustic music, spoken word and community performances, no two visits are expected to be the same.
The team behind Stage & Stem say the venue has been designed to fill a gap in Cardiff’s hospitality scene by offering a quality food and drink experience alongside a dedicated performance space.
Whether you’re stopping in for brunch and discovering a live jazz session, enjoying dinner before a theatre performance, or simply unwinding with a cocktail while watching an emerging local artist, Stage & Stem aims to offer something different from a traditional restaurant or theatre.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), the venue also has a wider mission. Alongside hosting professional productions, it will provide affordable performance opportunities for local creatives, workshops, open mic nights and community events, helping to support Cardiff’s growing creative scene.
The food menu will focus on freshly prepared brunch dishes, light lunches and evening small plates designed for sharing, accompanied by carefully selected wines, craft beers, speciality coffee and an imaginative cocktail menu.

Stage & Stem will open with the following opening hours, subject to final confirmation:
Monday: 9am to 6pm
Tuesday to Thursday: 9am to 11pm
Friday: 9am to midnight
Saturday: 9am to midnight
Sunday: 4pm to 11pm
