Channel 4’s First Dates launches love-inspired cocktail menu at The Botanist

The Botanist, Bath, was recently announced as the new restaurant location for Channel 4’s First Dates, to celebrate The Botanist’s mixologists have created a love-inspired cocktail menu , with One of the cocktails comes with an interactive surprise for every customer.

Everyone’s favourite blind-dating show, First Dates, is finally back with a new series. Available to stream on 4 from Tuesday 2nd January, maître d’ Fred Sirieix and his team of cupids are helping more dating hopefuls find love in a brand-new location. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show, First Dates has moved to the romantic city of Bath, and its new restaurant, The Botanist, sets the perfect scene for those looking for love. 

The Bath Botanist is located in the Octagon Chapel in the centre of Bath, a grade II listed building and hot spot for the likes of Jane Austen dating back to 1767, the restaurant features The Botanist’s signature grand botanical-inspired interiors, beautiful installations of greenery and exposed brick walls adorned with impressive hand painted artwork.

And now everyone can get a taste of the First Dates experience as The Botanist’s talented mixologists have created a love-inspired cocktail menu in collaboration with the show, available in all 24 of The Botanist bars across the country. 

Each of the four cocktails on the menu have been created with romance in mind, infused with fruits, botanicals and sweet treats to arouse the senses.  

The Candyfloss Royale, with St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, strawberry and elderflower cordial and Cava, served to the customers in a potion-like bottle to hand-pour into the glass over a puff of strawberry candyfloss, comes with an intriguing tag housing a QR code. When scanned with a mobile device, it promises to reveal ‘what cupid has in store for you in 2024’. 

Other drinks on the menu include Love Potion, with Lanique Spirit of Rose, Bacardi Raspberry, rhubarb cordial and tonic, finished with edible glitter; Confetti Martini, with Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Gin, Licor 43, cranberry juice, foam and sprinkles and She Loves You, with Diablesse Coconut & Hibiscus Rum, Giffard Framboise, pomegranate and hibiscus cordial and coconut cream. 

All First Dates cocktail specials at The Botanist are priced at £9.25 and are available from Tuesday 2nd January until Tuesday 12th March.
