Tis the season for indulgence, and Cardiff has upped its game since the days of limp Christmas sandwiches and lukewarm Christmas coffees.
Among the many festive menus popping up in the city, one delectable dish stands out above all others – for us at least – it’s Christmas patty season!

Grazing Shed – The Three Kings
These burgers look the business piled high with Christmassy fillings, and drenched with Christmassy puns and cheese Christmas spirit – who doesn’t like a pun with their bun?
The Golden Grinch, Festive Frank and the Mystic Myrrh-ger are all available now at both branches, and if that’s not enough to get your jingle bells ringing they also have battered sprouts which are the equivalent of the star on your Christmas tree, but tastier.

Coffi Co lounge – Christmas turkey burger
Over-indulgence. That’s what Christmas is all about, which means it is sociably acceptable to work your way through all of Coffi Co’s Christmas specials- Turkey with cranberry sauce, Beef Brisket Beast with horseradish sauce or stacked Pulled Pork with apple sauce, all paired with stuffing, a pig in blanket, seasoned potatoes and slaw. – can it not be Christmas all year round?

Got Beef – Fat Santa
Forget being nice. Be naughty and get over to burger joint Got Beef where they’re serving up full on Christmas dinner, imagine Christmas dinner (minus the veg) all in a bun and you’re there: Welsh black beef patty with Chopped turkey, smoked Streaky Bacon , toped with parsnip crisps in a brioche bun with a pot of roast chicken jus for pouring. We’ll all be auditioning for the Santa role after this one.

Tiny Rebel – Xmas burger & Vegan parsnip burger
Tiny Rebel might be all about beer, but their burger game has always been pretty strong. This year’s carefully crafted Christmas offering has been constructed from the finest festive flavours.
The Charred Turkey Burger is packed full of deep-fried, crispy-coated stuffing, bacon & cranberry jam and is topped with juicy pigs in blankets. They also have a Vegan Parsnip burger and a festive pizza on offer throughout December.

Burger Theory – Oh Deer
Santa might have to guide his own sleigh this year if Burger Theory have anything to do with it. Their offering includes a venison patty, crispy smoked bacon and melted brie with orange and cranberry sauce, the only thing missing from this burger is a Christmas stocking. They also have the cheese board and the Berry Christmas for the non meat eaters out there.

Flora – Festive Flora Burgers
The Flora have released three christmassy burgers to tickle your tinsel. Choose from a standard beef patty with brie, mulled cranberry sauce and onions or maybe opt for a traditional Turkey burger with apricot stuffing or pork and sage burger with apple and vanilla purée and the obligatory pig in a blanket.

Another a trio of burgers to chose from… Pour gravy over venison, beef or chicken (you choose), a hash brown, smoked Applewood cheese, cabbage, bacon, tarragon mayo and a devil on horseback. a welcome alternative to a humble pig in a blanket.

Luvly Grub – A Luvly Christmas Burger
The Luvly Christmas Burger contains a trio of meats along with plenty of trimmings, Beef Patty, Sage & Onion Stuffing, Slow Roasted Beef Brisket, Gravy, Red Onion Chutney, Pig in Blanket and a side of Homemade Gravy. Friends fans, you could consider this a moist maker.

Time and Beef – Christmas Burger
With their philosophy all about putting the customer in control and build everything yourself, it stands to reason that you could easily just rock up to Time & Beef and just create your own masterpiece, filled with all the best bits of Christmas dinner sandwiched between two buns. So all that is left for yule to do is grab a festive bib and think of a burger naughty enough to make Rudolph blush.
