Kokoro Set to Open First Welsh Restaurant in Cardiff

Cardiff city centre is about to welcome a brand new food name, as Kokoro prepares to open its first ever Welsh branch on St Mary Street. The site, previously home to The Grazing Shed, is already showing the chain’s signature blue and black branding, hinting that the doors will be opening soon.

Kokoro is a well known Korean and Japanese inspired chain with a loyal following across the UK. At the time of writing, the brand already has 77 restaurants nationwide, but this Cardiff opening marks a major moment as its debut in Wales.

The menu focuses on fresh sushi, warming hot dishes and comforting bowls that combine Korean flavours with Japanese staples. Fans can expect chicken katsu curry, warming noodle soups, dumplings, stir fries, sushi sets and plenty of vegetarian options. Everything is cooked fresh each day, with Kokoro saying their food is made with love and a passion for sharing joy through food.

With fast service, generous portions and a menu that suits lunch on the go just as much as a relaxed evening bite, it is likely to become a handy new stop for office workers, students and weekend shoppers alike.

Kokoro has not confirmed an official opening date yet, but with signage now up the launch looks close. We will share more details as soon as they are announced.
