The Land of Song Festival today announces that tickets for Côr World Choir at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Sunday 9 May 2027 will go on general sale on Friday 25 September at 10.00am BST, with priority booking opening for choir members, their families and friends on Monday 21 September 2026 at 10.00am BST.
Inspired by Wales’s identity as the Land of Song, the festival celebrates the nation’s deep connection to singing, community and belonging. More than 30 years after the iconic World Choir concerts of 1992 and 1993, Côr World Choir will bring that spirit back to life – uniting more than 20,000 singers from Wales, across the UK and around the world to create the largest choir ever assembled in Wales.
Accompanied by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and some very special guests, the massed choir will fill a roof-closed Principality Stadium with the sound of Welsh, classical, contemporary and international music – creating a spectacular live music experience.
From the stirring “Adiemus” by Sir Karl Jenkins, Wales’ greatest living composer, along with Welsh choral masterpieces like “Calon Lân” and “Yma o Hyd” to Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida”, Carl Orff’s “O Fortuna” and a special tribute to Welsh music legend Bonnie Tyler with “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, the repertoire promises a varied celebration of song.
Ben Lewis, CEO of Young Voices and Côr World Choir said: “Thirty-five years ago, my late father, David Lewis OBE, created the World Choir. Those events, in 1992 and 1993, with a choir of 10,000 alongside Sir Tom Jones and Dame Shirley Bassey, could only have been born in Wales. Bringing communities together to sing is in our blood, and it’s why we are known around the world as the Land of Song.
Having gone on to stage Young Voices, the largest children’s choir events in the world, for the past three decades, I assure you nothing quite prepares you for the sound of thousands of voices singing in unison with a full orchestra behind them.
To be able to bring the World Choir event back to Cardiff after all this time, inside the world renowned Principality Stadium, is a huge honour. What better way to celebrate our cultural heritage in an unforgettable night of song, than with 20,000 singers from around the world under one roof.”

Côr World Choir is part of the Land of Song Festival, bringing together singers and audiences to celebrate Wales’s musical heritage and love of singing. The festival will also see world-renowned Italian tenor Maestro Andrea Bocelli headline at Principality Stadium on Saturday 8 May 2027, accompanied by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera and a massed choir, ahead of Côr World Choir the following day.
