A major new attraction is coming to the Welsh capital this autumn, as leading UK adventure park operator Zip Worldofficially launches Zip World Cardiff at the Principality Stadium. Opening on Friday 31st October, the landmark partnership between Zip World and the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) will give thrill-seekers the chance to walk, drop and zip across one of Wales’ most iconic buildings.

The new experience marks Zip World’s first-ever stadium and city-centre location in Wales, bringing its signature mix of adrenaline and innovation right into the heart of Cardiff. Visitors can expect three pulse-racing adventures:

  • Stadium Walk – a guided rooftop walk offering breathtaking 360° views across the city.
  • Stadium Drop – an abseil descent down the outer wall of the stadium.
  • Stadium Flyer – a daring zip line soaring above the stadium’s 60-metre-high roof canopy.

The collaboration unites three iconic Welsh names — Zip WorldPrincipality Stadium, and the WRU — in a first-of-its-kind strategic partnership designed to create a sustainable, long-term attraction. Zip World will independently operate the rooftop experiences, managing everything from ticketing and marketing to on-site delivery, while the WRU will focus on its mission to support Welsh rugby, with all proceeds reinvested into the game at all levels.

Andrew Hudson, CEO of Zip World, said:

“Bringing Zip World to Cardiff is a proud moment for us. It’s our first stadium location and a chance to bring something completely new to the capital. Taking on the rooftop operations at Principality Stadium marks the start of an exciting new chapter – and we can’t wait to introduce a bit of Zip World magic to Cardiff.”

Leighton Davies, WRU Chief Commercial Officer, added:

“We have recognised the need for a more commercially sustainable operating model for the rooftop adventures and have found a partner that will deliver real value. Future revenue from the attraction will go directly back into Welsh rugby – supporting both the grassroots and professional game.”

Sean Taylor, Founder and President of Zip World, echoed the sentiment:

“As a lifelong rugby fan, this is a special milestone. The Principality Stadium is one of the most iconic venues in the world, and bringing a Zip World adventure to its rooftop is a proud moment for us and for Wales.”

Zip World Cardiff follows the success of the company’s Helix and ArcelorMittal Orbit 360 attraction in London and marks a new era for the adventure brand, now majority-owned by Dolphin Capital following a £100 million investment earlier this year.

Set against the skyline of the Welsh capital, Zip World Cardiff will offer an entirely new way to experience the Principality Stadium — combining high-adrenaline thrills with one of the most recognisable backdrops in British sport.
