Cardiff is about to get one of the most talked about chicken brands in the world, as Dave’s Hot Chicken opens its doors this Friday, 3rd April.
For its first Welsh site, the LA-born cult favourite has been given a local twist, rebranding as “David’s Hot Chicken”. There’s even a standout mural inside featuring a chicken riding a dragon, a clear nod to Saint David making hot the only Dave’s hot chicken to are changed in hour of the location.

What started life in a car park in Los Angeles has since grown into a global name, backed by big names including Samuel L Jackson. The brand is best known for its Nashville-style hot chicken and its famous seven-level spice scale, ranging from Not Hot right up to Reaper, which comes with a waiver before you can try it.

Inside, the Cardiff site keeps things relaxed with a West Coast feel, old school music and a fast casual setup that works just as well for a quick lunch as it does for late night food.
And if you’re planning to check it out on day one, it’s worth getting there early. The first 200 people through the door will get a free slider.
Safe to say, this one’s set to be busy.
