Popular Pizza Chain Pizza Pilgrims set to open in Cardiff

Pizza Pilgrims is planning to occupy a vacant building in the centre of Cardiff, according to the plans that have been submitted to Cardiff Council. The site is located at 1-4 High Street, which was formerly home to RBS bank and is situated on the corner of High Street and Duke Street, opposite Cardiff Castle. RBS bank closed in 2022.

Pizza Pilgrims, which started as a street food stall in Berwick Street Market in 2012, was founded by brothers James and Thom who drove the length of Italy in 2011 while trying pizza along the way. The chain specialises in Neapolitan-style pizza with fresh dough.

After opening its first permanent pizzeria in Soho in 2013, the chain has now expanded to 18 branches in London as well as locations in Leeds, Brighton, Nottingham, Oxford and Cambridge. Floorplans submitted to the council show seating for more than 60 customers in the Cardiff restaurant.

No date for the coming launch but as soon as we know, we will of course let you know.
