Cardiff Bay Welcomes The Lord Bute Seafood Restaurant, Bar & Lounge
Cardiff Bay is about to get a new addition to its dining scene which has been missing for years with the opening of The Lord Bute Seafood Restaurant, Bar & Lounge. Taking its name from the 6th Marquess of Bute, who famously gifted Cardiff Castle to the city, the restaurant aims to bring a fresh, exciting experience to the waterfront on the site of former pub Mischiefs on James Street.
The new restaurant and lounge bar is the brain child of local business owner Royston Parris who grew up in Butetown and wanted to give back to the area with a venue everyone and also offer something that is not currently on offer in Cardiff Bay

Specialising in seafood, The Lord Bute will serve up dishes made with the freshest locally sourced produce where possible but not be limited to fish. From oysters to expertly cooked fish, their menu celebrates the very best of South Wales’ coastal flavours. To wash it all down, diners can enjoy a selection of handcrafted cocktails or a glass of wine from the curated list.
But it’s not just about the food. The Lord Bute promises an inviting lounge area for casual drinks and a luxurious upstairs space featuring a whiskey and cocktail lounge. The terrace, complete with cigars for purchase, adds a touch of glamour for those looking to relax and unwind in style.
Located just a short stroll from the Wales Millennium Centre , the venue is perfectly placed to soak in Cardiff Bay’s vibrant atmosphere. Whether you’re popping in for a drink, enjoying a seafood feast, or exploring the cultural inspiration behind the menu, The Lord Bute is shaping up to be a fantastic addition to the Bay.
