Five new cocktail bars to open within a 3 minute radius in Cardiff

It’s time to start looking forward to one of the best times of the year – cocktail season in the sun. Luckily, there are a number of great cocktail bars launching in Cardiff this summer, so whether you prefer a fancy cocktail, a glass of bubbles, or a good old fashioned pint, you won’t be hard pushed finding somewhere to quench your thirst.

But if you live anywhere near bottom end of high street it’s about to get even easier, with five new cocktail bars all planned to open within a 3 minute radius.

The Florist

We’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of The Florist cocktail bar and restaurant. Information about the bar is currently thin on the ground, but based on the rave reviews that other branches of The Florist have received in Bristol and Liverpool, it’s going to be worth the wait.

Everything about The Florist will be floral-themed, from the drinks to the decor. The drinks are inspired by different styles of floristry, English Summer Garden, Ikebana, and Modern Contemporary. There are also a great selection of ales and wines available. What’s more, The Florist is well-known for having an excellent food menu.

The Alchemist

Self-acclaimed ‘masters in the dark arts of molecular mixology’, the mixologists at The Alchemist have turned cocktail-making into a gothic science.

The new “den of iniquity” from the Manchester-based company will be on St. Mary’s Street and we can’t wait to see what sinister conconctions they’re going to come up with, with drinks ‘presented in vessels ochestrated to add a devilish dash of theatre’. There’s going to be nothing else like it this summer.

Fly By Night

Another exciting addition to High Street, Fly by Night is going to be a wine bar like no other. Customers will be encouraged to try new things, and with an extensive list of uniquely-sourced wines to choose from, why not?

Fly by Night is being brought to us by David Abbot, the owner of 10 Mill Lane, and one of Cardiff’s most creative mixologists, David Adams. With a wealth of creative experience between them, Fly by Night is sure to be a sophisticated treasure.

Fly By Night is set to open on the 15th June

The Libertine

A new Libertine Cocktail Bar will be opening in the Castle Quarter during May.  The latest venture from a company who have already established hugely successful venues in both Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury, the Libertine promises to be anything but a conventional cocktail bar.  We can expect a mix of the quaint and the quirky, along with tasteful lighting and, most importantly, tasty cocktails.

There will be a great selection of drinks to choose from, including some of the Libertine’s brilliantly named signature cocktails, such as Viva Vase Vegas, Fudged Up and Ready to Blow, Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and 50 Shades of Earl Grey.

The manager of the bar has said it ‘aims to bring not just great cocktails, dynamic bartenders, showmanship and shine to the city centre, but to do so with an emphasis on the time-honoured values of hospitality. Whether its escaping away for amorous tipple with your better half, impressing that one-in-a-million date you’ve finally landed, or partying well into the night with friends, The Libertine is here to welcome you through its doors, and will always strive to make the experience unforgettable.’
