Cardiff’s vibrant dining scene is set to welcome a stunning new addition with the opening of Aura, an elegant brasserie and bar located at the historic Coal Exchange Hotel. Opening on Friday 11th October, Aura promises to deliver excellent food, ambience and luxury, offering a unique dining experience that celebrates the rich heritage and culture of one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Aura’s menu will feature modern dishes with a refined twist. Guests can expect a selection of signature plates such as perfectly grilled Poussin with a zesty lemon and aromatic thyme marinade, melt in your mouth sharing cote de boeuf, delicate house salads and signature Sunday roasts. The carefully crafted cocktail & wine list offers perfect pairings as well as offering an exquisite bar experience.

The new restaurant’s interior is welcoming, indulgent and memorable providing the perfect ambience. Sophie Pascoe of Studio Severn said ‘with an abundance of historical charm and nods to the building’s heritage, Aura inserts itself with a simple contemporary luxe, adding elegant refinement in contrast to the exposed raw industrial features’. Styling from Flair Interiors brings the space to life with a sophisticated palette of colours and materials creating a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Rosso marble and gently polished plaster sit perfectly alongside handmade tiles and dark bronze architectural hardware enhancing the backdrop of the generous space. Keith Clash, General Manager of The Coal Exchange Hotel, said: “Crafted and brought to life by our expert team, Aura aims to provide an unforgettable experience, where innovative cuisine meets a warm and captivating atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you to Aura and sharing this exciting new chapter with you.”

Aura offers restaurant bar & lounge spaces and an exclusive private dining room. The semi private dining area enclosed in beautiful wine cabinetry offers a more secluded dining experience allowing guests privacy within the atmospheric restaurant.
Aura will officially open to the public on 6 September.
