Christmas At Bute Park Returns – Here’s Everything You Need To Know

With more than 104,000 tickets sold in 2024Christmas at Bute Park is just weeks away from returning to Cardiff city centre for its fifth annual outing. Running from 21 November to 31 December, this award-winning light spectacular promises over five weeks of festive magic in the heart of the Welsh capital — and this year, it’s bigger, brighter, and more breathtaking than ever.

As Wales’s largest light trail, Christmas at Bute Park will once again transform the park into a wonderland of art, music, and light. Situated in one of Cardiff’s most iconic locations, the 2025 edition features a reimagined route filled with brand-new installations created by world-class artists and designers, alongside much-loved returning favourites.

Returning pieces twists such as Delilah Y Ddraig

Leading the new sights this year is Water Willow, a stunning centrepiece that promises to dazzle visitors with its enchanting blend of light and sound. A majestic tree adorned with thousands of radiant bulbs pulses with brilliance, illuminating its trunk in a shimmering ascent before cascading from its branches like glistening silver raindrops.

Also new for 2025 is Icefall, where a shimmering cascade of lights tumbles down like a luminous waterfall, glowing in icy whites and frosty blues. Each flicker and sparkle moves in rhythmic harmony with a winter-themed soundscape, evoking the crisp, magical beauty of the season.

Other new installations include Crystal Avenue and Yuletide Magic – a gorgeous tree projection of sparkling pixie dust dancing through the branches – while returning favourites like Delilah y Ddraig and Rainbow Riot will once again light up Bute Park’s pathways with colour and energy.

The experience also continues to spotlight emerging Welsh artists with new, locally inspired works such as Annwyl Siôn Corn and Golau Y Gaeaf, celebrating the country’s creative spirit.

To complete the experience, Christmas at Bute Park has teamed up once again with Togather Events, bringing an incredible array of local street food traders to fuel your festive night out.
