The First Sauna Village In Wales is coming to Cardiff.

Cardiff is about to welcome a major first for wellbeing in Wales. Hikitalo is opening Wales’ first ever multi sauna village, and it will also introduce the UK’s first purpose built multi plunge experience of its kind.

Tucked behind Meanwhile House, the new Sauna Village will be an urban retreat designed around contrast therapy, calm and community. The space will open seven days a week and can host up to thirty six people at a time.

Everything in the village has been bespoke made for the site. There will be three wood fired saunas, all built by specialist sauna builders who work to traditional Finnish standards. These are proper saunas in every sense, with natural heat, wood fire warmth and careful attention to airflow and materials.

Alongside the saunas, guests will have access to three plunge options offering both hot and cold immersion. The plunging experience is a UK first, designed to complement the sauna sessions and encourage full contrast therapy in one place. Showers and changing facilities are built into the space, along with a courtyard area for cooling off between rounds and an indoor area for refreshments.

Hikitalo shared on social media that the team has been working hard behind the scenes for the past couple of months and is on track to open in mid April. The project marks a big step for sauna culture in Cardiff, offering a permanent, purpose built space rather than a pop up or single unit.

With growing interest in sauna and cold water therapy, this new Sauna Village looks set to become a standout destination in the city. More details on booking when they open April 20th.
