The Beach Is Back And At It’s Original Location In Roald Dahl’s Plass

The beach is back at Roald Dahl Plass – Cardiff will once again create its own seafront with the return of the Capital FM Cardiff Bay Beach (Saturday 20 July – Sunday 1 September 2019), entertaining families throughout the school holidays.

The urban beach, which has become such a hit in the Bay in recent years, is again expected to attract a quarter of a million people to the Cardiff waterfront, with a bucket full of traditional seaside attractions.

Last year, the beach had relocated to Cardiff Bay Barrage due to the National Eisteddfod celebrations, but it returns to Roald Dahl Plass for 2019, proving to be more than a popular choice amongst fans for the event.

The Cardiff Bay Beach is brought to the city once again by Welsh events specialists Sayers Events, whose director Norman George Sayers said: “We’re thrilled to announce that the Beach returns for another year in Cardiff, and are pleased we’re able to return to Roald Dahl Plass – a much-loved site for both us and our customers. This year you can expect the return of our paddling pool, along with sea-side fun and games, including our very own beach and plenty of entertainment.”

Headline sponsors, Capital FM, South Wales No.1 Hit Music Station will be hitting the beach across the summer with chances to win some amazing prizes.  Kristy John, Station Director at Capital FM said: “Summer lives on Capital so we’ve got your chance to go Beach-to-Beach with a Bluestone Break plus check out Nathaniel MG on site, and you and a mate could become Cardiff City season ticket holders!”

The beach features a giant child-friendly sandy beach, a shallow water play area, a variety of rides and games, a giant wheel with views across the bay, free live entertainment, great food and drink, and traditional deck chairs for visitors to chill out in the summer sun. Entry to the Cardiff Bay Beach is free, and there are chargeable facilities on site.

The beach is located in Roald Dahl Plass on the waterfront of Cardiff Bay, is open from 10am to 8pm Sunday – Thursday, and 10am to 10pm Friday and Saturday.
