TUI UK introduces new winter route to Hurghada, Egypt
Increase of almost 7,000 seats
Early sale of Summer 2020 programme will launch 8th November
TUI UK, the UK’s largest holiday operator, launches its Winter 2019 programme and reveals growth plans for Cardiff Airport, with a new weekly route to Hurghada for the season.
On sale now, the Winter 2019 programme will continue to offer holidaymakers in South Wales more choice and flexibility than ever before, with an increased capacity of nearly 7,000 additional seats at Cardiff Airport.
Continuing to recognise that not everyone wants to holiday for 7 or 14 nights, customers will also have the option of 10 and 11 night holidays to Malaga in Spain towards the end of next Winter.
The introduction of the new route is part of TUI’s strategy to ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the best hotels in some of the most exciting destinations around the world, including TUI flagship properties such as the TUI Sensimar Makadi Gardens in Hurghada.
TUI UK’s Director of Aviation Planning Karen Switzer said: “Adding more choice and flexibility for the Winter 2019 season demonstrates our commitment to Cardiff Airport and the local area, as we continue to focus on expanding access to our amazing range of holidays through an extended flying programming concentrated on the core destinations that we know our customers want to visit.”

From family summer getaways to Spain, Turkey, Greece among many, to fly-cruise breaks sailing the Mediterranean and Caribbean, not to mention winter sun holidays to destinations including The Canary Islands.
“What’s more, TUI UK recognises the considerable potential at Cardiff Airport, having already announced 100,000 extra seats and a further three new flights to Hurghada in Egypt, Naples in Italy and Dubrovnik in Croatia for the upcoming Summer 2019 season.
“Today’s announcement is so exciting for us and I know our customers will be delighted to see Winter holidays to Egypt available to book so far in advance. It’s brilliant to see the UK’s largest holiday operator going from strength to strength at Cardiff Airport.”
For the first time ever, TUI will also be selling Summer 2020 holidays from early November – the earliest the tour operator has sold a summer programme. This is to provide customers that want to secure their favourite hotels or preferred flight options earlier than ever before. TUI customers will also be offered thousands of free kids places and offers on all of the TUI favourite hotel concepts including Family Life, Sensatori, Splashworld, Holiday Village and Suneo Club.
