New Mural in Bute Town Cardiff Bay

A stunning new mural has been unveiled in Cardiff Bay’s Bute town, capturing the heart and heritage of one of the city’s most storied communities. Created by local artist Lucy Sweeney, the Butetown Heritage Mural celebrates the area’s rich industrial past and the diverse multicultural tapestry that has defined Butetown through the decades.

Situated between the Police Station and Nu Life Furniture at the top of Dumballs Road, the mural was commissioned by Our Cardiff, a heritage project dedicated to exploring the stories of residents in Cardiff’s oldest multi-ethnic neighborhood. This beautifully painted artwork brings to life the history, resilience, and spirit of Bute town, showcasing the people and cultures that have made it the vibrant community what it is today.

Unveiled yesterday 29th , the mural is already attracting attention and admiration, providing both a striking visual for the area and a meaningful tribute to Bute town’s heritage.
