New charity music festival Lamb Jam being hosted by Forage Farm Shop and Kitchen

A local farm will welcome a music event to raise money for Kidney Wales and Neuroendocrine Cancer UK.

On Saturday 25th June 2022, the Forage Farm Shop and Kitchen (located in the Cowbridge area), will host a debut festival in collaboration with charity music event Lamb Jam. The one-day event will feature five local cover bands playing a variety of music from across the ages, as well as an array of food, fun and prizes.

Doors will open at 3pm and attendees can expect a packed itinerary; funk rock covers band Juice will be kicking off the evening of live music from 4pm, followed by Saltwater Cure at 5:30pm. Female-fronted Cherry Hive will be performing at 7pm, with established wedding band The Story Goes taking to the stage from 8.30pm. Finally, rounding off an evening of live music will be indie rock band Just Drive at 10pm.

If a line-up of talented local musicians isn’t enough to satisfy your taste buds, then perhaps the delicious food and drink on offer is. The Forage Farm Shop and Kitchen will be serving their ever-popular hog roast using produce from their farm; hungry festival goers can also choose from: lamb roast, burgers and of course, sweet treats in the shape of Fablas Ice Cream who will be attending the event. There will be a range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free alternatives available. The festival will also offer soft and hot drinks, and alcoholic beverages such as Bang on Brewery and Gwynt Y Ddraig cider.

Fun and games are available at the festival too, making it an accessible family event that is welcoming to all ages, although under 18s must be under adult supervision. Games include: the Brian Moore Rugby Challenge, the Corn Hole Championship and Guess the Weight of the Piglet, to name but a few.

Furthermore, what would a fundraising event be without a charity raffle? Lamb Jam have collated a fantastic set of prizes such as hotel breaks, gin tasting trips, and all manner of experiences and food and drink prizes. It is also fitting that a South Wales festival has some rugby tickets on offer with a lucky winner getting to take away two Six Nations tickets for 2023!

Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £8.50 for children aged 6-15 (under 5s are free). Additional costs for food, drinks and games are priced individually. Visitors can make use of free parking at the Forage car park where there will also be a taxi drop off and collection point.

As this is an outdoor event, visitors should be prepared for the great Welsh outdoors, that is: wear appropriate footwear, wrap up warm and bring your umbrellas. However, everyone is encouraged to set up comfortably on the lawn with their own camping chairs and blankets to enjoy the event.

The Forage team are looking forward to bringing the community together through the celebration of Welsh produce, talent and fun. Managing partner, Tom Homfray says: “We hope you will join us for a night to remember enjoying great music whilst helping great causes. We wanna lamb it with you!”

The Forage Farm Shop and Kitchen is situated at: Penllyn Estate, Llwynhelig, Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, CF71 7FF.
