How to enjoy the sunshine in Cardiff

After a fairly grey start to the week, today has finally given us the golden glow we’ve been waiting for.

Cardiff is to rejoice in glorious summer sun from today, with temperatures set to make it into the 20s for the first time since …….  we can’t remember.

While we spend the day digging to find our flip flops from underneath the pile of woolly jumpers and festive knits, Saturday is said to be the ‘wow’ day, with Cardiff hopefully reaching temperatures higher than that of Greece.

Living in one of the rainiest places in the UK we don’t want to let these days pass us by, so here’s our top places to enjoy the sun this week.

If there are two things that go together perfectly it’s a cold beer in a brilliant pub and stunning scenery. The Brewhouse kitchen (former Mochyn Ddu) as had a refurb of the pub and beer garden that gets the sun late into the day.

A day at the beach has been proven to be good for the brain. A new study conducted by the University of Exeter found that there were numerous health benefits to spending time near the ocean.

Break out the BBQ

Everyone loves to dine al fresco and with the Hang Fire girls’ new TV show on hand, we have plenty to experiment with in the garden. Please BBQ responsibly, we don’t advise digging holes in the sand to bury your pork chop.

Secret Garden Cafe

The all new Secret Garden Cafe has opened offering the perfect place for a spot of lunch or an afternoon cuppa along the river.
