Green Man threw open its gates today, welcoming 25,000 music lovers to the Black Mountains for a sold-out 2025 edition, tickets gone in just 60 minutes before a single act was announced. The magic? A stunning Bannau Brycheiniog setting, an independent spirit, and a line-up that blends world-class music, arts, science, and culture.
The Mountain Stage stayed quiet for warm up night, so all eyes turned to the Far Out and Chai Wallahs stages. Welsh favourites Adwaith, Gurries , warmed things up before Northern Ireland’s Kneecap made their Green Man and Welsh festival debut with a bang!

Kneecap arrived to a packed tent and a politically charged atmosphere, Palestinian flags waving and mosh pits forming within minutes. They delivered a chaotic, high-energy set, complete with chants, political messages, and a surprise appearance from Helen from Wales, who famously live-streamed their Glastonbury show. The crowd loved it, roaring right back at them all night.
The Avalanches closed out Chai Wallahs with their trademark feel-good grooves, leaving everyone buzzing for the first full day ahead. If tonight was just the warm-up, Green Man 2025 is set to be unforgettable with Wunderhorse and Wet Leg headlining the mountain stage.
