A Gin Tasting Masterclass Is Taking Place On Flat Holm

Calling all gin lovers! Fancy an evening sipping on some of the finest gins on an island off the coast of Cardiff?

Cardiff Gin Club have got the perfect tonic for your end of summer blues. On the 22nd & 23rd September they will be hosting a gin masterclass on Flat Holm Island, giving you the chance to taste and learn about a variety of gins from some of Cardiff’s leading gin experts.

One of Bay Island Voyager’s RIBS will pick you up from Cardiff Bay, take you through the barrage and across to Flat Holm Island, which is about five miles off the coast. There will be plenty of time to explore the island, its beautiful surrounds and its fascinating history, before heading indoors with the Gin Club team.

Once your inside you’ll be able to sample a wide range of different gins while the experts ply with you with interesting facts about their origins and ingredients. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have, including “can I have some more?” Once your palette is suitable whetted you can also head to the island’s bar, the Gull and Leek, to get extra drinks, or if you’d prefer you can wander the island and enjoy one of Cardiff’s most scenic locations. It’s the perfect place for a picnic and a stroll. However you choose to spend your time on the island, this is a unique experience that you won’t want to miss.
