Discover Deep Relaxation at Penarth’s New Floatation Centre, Rest Space

Let your cares  and worries drift away, floating weightlessly in warmth and velvet darkness.

Penarth has a new sanctuary of calm, and it’s opening its doors next Tuesday! Rest Space, a brand-new floatation centre, is the brainchild of local couple Ryan and Charlotte, who have transformed their passion for relaxation into a serene escape for everyone.

From the moment you step inside Rest Space, the relaxation begins. You’ll be invited to swap your shoes for comfortable sliders, leaving the outside world behind. Ryan and Charlotte have carefully designed every detail to make sure your experience is as calming as possible.

Floatation involves lying in a shallow pool of body warm water which has 500kg of epsom salts dissolved in it to allow the human body to float effortlessly. The air in the room is also at body temperature too, so the person feels like they are floating free in space. The room starts off with relaxing music and gentle lighting which then fades to darkness allowing the person to achieve a deep meditative state of relaxation sometimes known as a Theta state.

Rest Space features two private floatation pod rooms where you can drift into a state of deep relaxation. Floating in these pods, you’ll feel weightless as the stresses of daily life simply melt away. Each session lasts around an hour, giving you plenty of time to unwind. But the experience doesn’t stop there – after your float, you’re welcome to spend another hour in the charming post-float relaxation area.

This space isn’t just any relaxation room; it’s designed to engage all your senses. Step into the sensory garden, where you can breathe in soothing scents, listen to the sound of rain drums, smell botanical plants, and feel different textures under your fingertips. Bathed in natural sunlight, it’s the perfect spot to continue your relaxation journey and adjust ready for the outside world.

There are showers in the private rooms and even vanity areas in the luxury centre, where people can make use of Dyson hairdryers, chosen because they are quieter than normal ones so that they don’t break the relaxing silence for customers.

Ryan and Charlotte’s journey into floatation therapy started out of sheer curiosity, and it quickly became a passion. Charlotte, who worked as an assistant psychologist during COVID-19, has always been drawn to caring roles, and this new venture is a natural extension of her commitment to well-being.

To celebrate the opening, Rest Space is holding a special walk-in session tomorrow, 30th August. It’s a great opportunity to meet Ryan and Charlotte, ask any questions you might have, and take a sneak peek at the space before it officially opens.

Whether you’re a seasoned floater or new to the concept, Rest Space promises an experience that will leave you feeling lighter, calmer, and completely rejuvenated. So, mark your calendars and prepare to leave your stress at the door as you float away into relaxation bliss.
