Cardiff’s first plastic-free, zero-waste depart store has opened in the city.

The first of its kind in Wales; Yellow TSE has landed in Cardiff City Centre. Kind, Conscious, and Visionary; Yellow TSE is a plastic-free, zero-waste, department store, and paperless shopping experience. Using state of the art QR technology, never before been seen in Wales, you can now browse and buy your refillable goods with ease. Whether you choose to shop from the comfort of your own home and collect in your lunch break, or come and enjoy the collaborative work space and cafe as you shop sustainably; the choice is yours.

Yellow TSE has now opened its doors in the Morgan Arcade on World Refill Day 2022, and brought a new way of shopping to Cardiff. The social enterprise is centred around the planet and people, with the primary aim of improving the world we live in, whilst giving back to the local community.

Yellow TSE not only encourages the future of shopping but it provides local businesses with a platform to sell and flourish too. The social enterprise also pledges to give equal proportions of profit to Mind Cymru, Cardiff Women’s Aid, and City Hospice to support local charities with important initiatives.

Founder and CEO Tamsin Ford, has planned, plotted, lived and breathed, Yellow TSE for the past three years. When COVID-19 hit, she wasn’t sure it would ever be a reality. But, after battling all hurdles in her way, it’s full steam ahead for this inspirational business venture and social enterprise.

Tamsin is well-known for sustainable retail through her business born in Pontcanna, Blossom & Nectar. Now home to the second location for Yellow TSE, Blossom & Nectar fuelled her passion for sustainable business and inspired her to encourage wider change in retail.

The venue is now open, adorned with stylish paper decor from Carta & Wood, in plenty of time for what’s set to be a booming summer in the Welsh Capital, post-Covid restrictions. If you’re taking a stroll through Cardiff’s iconic arcades, just keep an eye out for a life size giraffe model, courtesy of Broken Hare, and you can’t miss them.

Featuring art from Katherine Jones Artist; sustainable fashion from Onesta; goods from other local sustainable businesses such as Studio Muse, Eliza Eliza, Rhian Kate Jewellery, Kate Dumbleton Jewellery, Andy Morris and more; Yellow TSE is your one-stop sustainable shop, work-space, and cafe in Cardiff City Centre. Did we mention there’s coffee supplied from Hard Lines? Yes, there’s local coffee and vegan cakes too!
