We took a sneak peek at the development of the new Cardiff Park Gate Hotel and this is what we found!
New renovations are taking place for the new Park Gate Hotel located on Westgate Street, Cardiff central to open in October. The hotel will be replacing the former post office; some of its architecture will remain, in honour of the capital’s heritage.
In partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and The Celtic Collection, the hotel will allow rugby fans to stay a drop kick away from the action and immerse into the atmosphere around the Principality Stadium.
The new hotel brand puts the capital L in luxury with its 170-guest bedrooms and suites across six floors, a signature restaurant and bar, an elegant tea lounge and a luxurious rooftop spa with infinity pool overlooking the skyline of Cardiff.
Even the logo has been carefully designed and thought out. The signature capital ‘P’ draws upon its partnership with the WRU feathers and an influence from the previous residence, the Post Office. The capital ‘P’ is designed and written in a quill format, signifying what would have been used on the old writing tables.
The Celtic Collection Chief Executive Ian Edwards said, “At a time when we are beginning to reopen and bounce back in tourism and hospitality, we are delighted that The Parkgate Hotel will open this October in time for the autumn internationals.”
WRU Chief Executive Steve Phillips added, “The Parkgate Hotel will put guests right at the heart of the match day action and is the perfect location for exploring the city centre.”
