Burger Theory is moving into it’s own restaurant on St Mary Street

Burger Theory is already one of Cardiff’s best burger restaurants and now they are moving out of Kongs Bar and into their own restaurant just yards down the street.

Anybody thinking Cardiff couldn’t possibly sustain more burger places need not worry as they have been cooking up some of Cardiff’s best burgers in the 80’s game bar Kongs for a couple of years already.

Following a post by Kongs on social media a couple of weeks ago stating that they will be leaving their current home, a licence application has gone in for the old Wok & Go site which has been empty for over a year.

Run by Rory Perriment, Oliver Thorogood and Nick Makin, this is the second stand alone restaurant for Burger Theory, which has until now been a street food and festival business that has also run pop-ups around Bristol and Cardiff.

If this restaurant is like their Bristol establishment we can look forward to them serving  a range of burgers, as well as craft beers, cocktails, fresh juices, fries and cheesecakes.

The burgers are served in a choice of buns (brioche, Italian herb, seeded wholemeal or gluten-free) and dressed with mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion.

As well as beef patties, signature burgers at Burger Theory include The Don (beef, garlic, oregano and chilli patty with pepperoni, pizza sauce, melted mozzarella and rocket) and five vegetarian burgers including Rory’s Best Ever Veggie Cheese Burger (tofu and quinoa burger with smoked Cheddar, halloumi, house pickles, Dijon mustard and house ketchup)

There’s no date when work will start on the site but when we find out we will be sure to let you know.
