A slice of pizza history has landed in South Wales, with the first Neapolitan pizza vending machine in Wales now live at Cwmbran Shopping Centre.
The concept, called Pizza Pods, was launched by Porthcawl friends Philip Dewhurst and Matt Martin, who both come to food via the music and festival world. After years working events, they decided to flip the usual street food model on its head and bring restaurant-quality pizza to people around the clock.

The result is a sleek, fully automated pizza vending machine serving authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas in under five minutes, 24 hours a day.
What sets Pizza Pods apart is the quality behind the tech. The pizzas are made in Naples using ingredients sourced entirely from the region and baked in a traditional stone bakery that has been operating for around 80 years. Once made, the pizzas are cryogenically frozen to lock in flavour, texture and freshness before being shipped to Wales.

The machine uses an induction oven system, cooking up to two pizzas at a time and delivering them straight through the front hatch. At launch, customers can choose between a classic Margherita or Pepperoni, with more options planned as the concept expands.
Prices range from £12.77 to £13.77, and there are plans to roll Pizza Pods out across Wales, as well as at festivals and sporting events.
For late-night food lovers, shift workers or anyone craving proper pizza without the wait, this could be a game-changer.
