Whoopi Goldberg Announces Cardiff show – Her First UK Tour Date in Nearly a Decade

Cardiff is only one of two shows in the UK

Hollywood royalty is heading to Cardiff this autumn as Whoopi Goldberg brings her first UK live shows in almost ten years with a date in Cardiff.

The Oscar-winning icon will take to the stage at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on Thursday 5th September, following a date the night before at London’s Eventim Apollo.

Famous for her unforgettable roles in Sister Act, Ghost, and The Colour Purple, Whoopi will reflect on her career with what’s being promised as “razor-sharp candour”. Fans can expect a night of stories, laughs, and even a few surprises – including a Q&A session where the audience gets to ask the questions.

Whoopie Goldberg said – “I’ve always loved performing for UK audiences,”.

“I can’t wait to take the stage at these two incredible venues and share some stories, some laughs, and maybe even a little truth.”

Goldberg is one of the few stars in the world to achieve EGOT status – having won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony – and her upcoming Cardiff date marks her first return to a UK stage since 2017, when she performed stand-up at the London Palladium.

She had also been due to appear in the stage version of Sister Act in 2021 but had to step down after pandemic-related delays.

Tickets for Whoopi’s Cardiff show go on sale Friday 20th June – and if her past performances are anything to go by, this one’s set to be a sell-out.
