Wheatus have today revealed details of a brand new 18-date UK & Irish headline tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their million-selling 2000 debut album ‘Wheatus’ (the record which gave birth to the glorious worldwide megahit “Teenage Dirtbag”).
The much-loved New York band will hit our shores in November-December 2025, kicking off proceedings at Dublin Academy on 22nd November with the tour culminating in a very special show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley (with Bowling For Soup) on 13th December. All headline shows will see Wheatus perform their classic eponymously titled debut album in its entirety each night, as well as taking fan requests at every show.

Wheatus played to an audience of 20,000 at 2024’s Download Festival, having sold-out an unprecedented 47-date UK & Irish headline tour in autumn 2023. Over their 25 year career, Wheatus have also shared stages with the likes of Alice Cooper, Blondie, Busted, Jimmy Eat World, The 1975, Muse, Jack White, Blink-182, Paramore, Coheed & Cambria and so many more.
Describing how it feels to be celebrating the debut album’s 25th birthday, Wheatus frontman brendan b brown says, “It feels truly strange & wonderful. We’ve never had the opportunity to take this career for granted – in fact, most of it has been a desperate attempt to keep it going… thinking it would all end any day, but that’s not how it turned out. I think that’s been for the best because now we’re enjoying something we never thought we’d see. The feelings of gratitude are overwhelming.”
Talking about the love for the band from UK & Irish audiences, brendan continues, “No matter what level we’ve been at, and it’s been all over the place for us these 25 years – the English, Irish, Welsh & Scottish audiences, in particular the smaller towns, have always been super keen. It’s as if they won’t LET you have a bad show. And having cultivated the all-request, no set-list format has meant all the shows, no matter the size, remain intimate, unpredictable and guided by the moods of the crowd… Which to us is infinitely more exciting to us than rehearsed set-lists could ever be.”
The last few years have been a true whirlwind for Wheatus… Arguably bigger than ever, “Teenage Dirtbag” has amassed more than 337 million views on YouTube and even became the cornerstone of a huge TikTok movement in 2022 when the “Teenage Dirtbag photos” trend was embraced by nearly a million people, including celebrities such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Mark Ruffalo, Lil Nas X, Jon Bon Jovi, Chevy Chase and countless others, resulting in the hashtag #teenagedirtbag being viewed over 2 billion times worldwide! And, if that wasn’t enough, in 2023 it surprised everyone again by re-entering the UK Official Top 40 Singles Chart.
After their previous well-laid plans were foiled by you-know-what, Wheatus are committing every waking moment of 2025 to traveling the world to celebrate the anniversary of their debut album that still means so much to so many. As well as playing their debut album in its entirety each night the band will also be taking fan requests for any other favourites from their three decade career – a ritual they’ve upheld at headline shows for almost twenty years now. It’s a joy to behold. As brendan says, “The entire first record is ready to go and will definitely be performed every night… but never in the same order. We’ll be doing the songs as they are shouted out by the crowd. On the US leg of this tour we were regularly doing over twenty songs as well as some improv acoustics – all very unpredictable.”
