Wales’ Michelin-Starred Restaurants 2026

All seven keep their stars

The Michelin Guide 2026 has landed, and while there were no new stars awarded to Welsh venues this year, it is still strong news for food lovers in Wales. All seven Michelin-starred restaurants across the country have retained their stars, continuing to put Wales firmly on the UK dining map.

From destination dining in Mid Wales to standout spots in Cardiff, the coast and the countryside, these are the restaurants holding Michelin stars in Wales right now.

Two Michelin Stars

Ynyshir
Wales’ only two-star restaurant remains in a league of its own. Chef-led and fiercely individual, Ynyshir is known for its long, immersive tasting experience and bold, modern cooking. It continues to draw diners from across the UK and beyond.

One Michelin Star

Gorse
Cardiff’s Michelin-star holder keeps its place in the guide. Gorse has become a benchmark for modern fine dining in the capital, with seasonal tasting menus and a relaxed but polished feel.

Home
Just outside Cardiff, Home continues to impress with thoughtful cooking that puts produce first. The setting may be understated, but the food remains quietly confident and consistently excellent.

Walnut Tree
A long-standing name in Welsh fine dining, The Walnut Tree holds onto its star once again. Classic technique, strong flavours and a rural setting make it a firm favourite.

Sosban & The Old Butchers
This small but mighty restaurant on Anglesey continues its Michelin run. Known for bold flavours and tight, focused menus, it remains one of North Wales’ most talked-about tables.

Beach House
Set right on the seafront, Beach House keeps its star with food that reflects its coastal location. Seafood-led dishes and a sense of place are at the heart of its appeal.

The Whitebrook
Tucked away in the Wye Valley, The Whitebrook continues to shine with its foraged-led approach and menus rooted in the surrounding landscape.

While Wales did not gain any new Michelin stars for the 2026 guide, retaining all seven is no small thing. It shows consistency, confidence and a dining scene that continues to hold its own alongside the rest of the UK.

For anyone planning a special meal, a weekend away, or a food-led road trip around Wales, these restaurants remain the ones to book.
