Cymru’s women’s football team is set to bring the excitement of the UEFA Women’s Nations League to fans across Wales, as they prepare for their first-ever appearance in a major tournament at this summer’s UEFA EURO finals in Switzerland. Rhian Wilkinson’s side will compete in League A of the Nations League, facing tough opponents Italy, Sweden, and Denmark.
The tour kicks off on home soil with three highly anticipated matches in Wrexham, Cardiff, and Swansea. Cymru’s campaign begins at the STōK Cae Ras in Wrexham on Tuesday 25 February (7:15pm KO), where they’ll take on Sweden. This venue holds special significance, as it was where Wilkinson led Cymru to a dominant 4-0 victory against Croatia in her first game in charge last year.
The team will then head to the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday 4 April (7:15pm KO) to face Denmark. The venue hosted Cymru’s record-breaking attendance of 16,845 during the EURO play-off final against the Republic of Ireland last November.
The final home match is set for the Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday 3 June (KO TBC), where Cymru will take on Italy. Their last outing at this venue saw an impressive 0-0 draw against Germany in December 2023, which also set a record attendance for a fixture outside Cardiff.
