Vitality Blast Set for a Big Summer at Sophia Gardens

Fast-paced cricket returns to Cardiff this summer as the Vitality Blast gets ready to light up Sophia Gardens with six home games for Glamorgan.

Running from 22 May to 18 July 2026, the T20 competition is one of the most exciting formats in cricket, with fast-paced matches, big hitting and a lively atmosphere that feels more like a summer event than a traditional day at the cricket.

Glamorgan will host six group stage fixtures in Cardiff, with most matches falling on Friday nights, known for their electric atmosphere, alongside a couple of weekend and midweek games:

The Friday night games in particular have become a standout part of Cardiff’s summer calendar, starting in daylight and finishing under the floodlights, with a relaxed crowd and plenty of energy around the ground.

One of the biggest draws of the Vitality Blast is how accessible it is. You do not need to be a cricket fan to enjoy it. There is music between overs, DJs keeping the pace up, and plenty happening off the pitch to keep everyone entertained.

For families, it is one of the easiest live sports events to take kids to. Sophia Gardens offers open concourse areas, space to move around, and a range of activities including batting nets, mascots and street food on the lawns. Fancy dress is common in the crowd, and players often come over to sign autographs, adding to the experience for younger fans.

Located right in the centre of the city, Sophia Gardens is easy to get to, whether you are heading in after work for a Friday night game or making a day of it at the weekend.

Tickets are great value, with early bird prices starting from just £13 for adults and £5 for children.

Early bird pricing is available until 30 April, so it pays to book early. After this, prices rise to £18 for adults, while U17s stay at £5 and students at £8.
£1 booking fee per ticket applies at checkout.

Whether you are a die-hard Glamorgan supporter or just looking for something different to do on a warm evening, the 2026 Vitality Blast in Cardiff is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the summer.
