Richard Ashcroft Adds Extra Cardiff Date to Headline Tour

Fresh from a sold-out stadium tour supporting Oasis and a triumphant solo show at Manchester’s Co-op Live, Richard Ashcroft has announced a series of new UK arena dates for spring 2026 – and Cardiff is officially on the list.

The iconic singer-songwriter will perform at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on 24 March 2026, marking a highly anticipated return to the Welsh capital. It’s one of four new dates added due to overwhelming demand, alongside shows in Liverpool, London and Leeds.

The announcement follows the reveal of Ashcroft’s new album, Lovin’ You, set for release on 3 October 2025. The record will be his first collection of new material since 2018’s Natural Rebel, and includes lead single Lover, which features a reworking of Joan Armatrading’s Love And Affection. Armatrading herself praised the song, calling it “beautiful” and a fitting tribute to her original.

Produced with long-time collaborator Chris Potter, Lovin’ You showcases Ashcroft’s signature sound – sweeping ballads, indie rock anthems and flashes of soul and electronica – all wrapped in deeply personal lyrics focused on love, support, and resilience. The album also includes I’m A Rebel, co-written with Mirwais (known for his work with Madonna).

Ashcroft’s place as one of British music’s most influential figures was cemented during his time with The Verve, with Urban Hymns becoming one of the UK’s biggest-selling albums. His solo work has continued that success, with multiple Top 5 albums and two Ivor Novello Awards to his name.
