It was a tale of two Toms as Tom Grennan and Tom Walker took over the Utilita Arena – or the Motorpoint/CIA, depending on your age – on the very night the venue turned 32 years old. And what a way to celebrate.
The stage, set up in a T-shape that stretched down the middle of the arena, gave fans a chance to get up close. First up was Allie Sherlock, who warmed up the crowd with a short but strong set, before Tom Walker stepped out in front of a black curtain. His soulful voice filled the room as he delivered hits like Just You and I and Leave the Light On, which became a huge arena singalong, reminiscent of his Cardiff Castle show last year.

Then came the main event. The curtain dropped to reveal an 80s-style game show stage, complete with Grennan’s name in bold lights. What followed was a storming 90-minute set, bursting with energy from the first note. With tracks from his latest album What Ifs & Maybes mixed in with fan favourites from across his ten-year career, Grennan had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

Hits like Let’s Go Home Together (his duet with Ella Henderson) and All Goes Wrong (his Chase & Status collaboration) came alive with huge fire displays, while confetti cannons rained down during All These Nights – just three songs in. His brass section and five backing vocalists added a rich, powerful layer to the sound, making the show feel bigger and more celebratory than ever.
Grennan made full use of the runway stage, dancing, jumping, and leaning down to fans, constantly feeding off the crowd’s energy. He kept things honest too, sharing how much he loves Wales – without putting on a fake accent, just genuine appreciation for the support.
Skipping the usual encore trick, Grennan closed with his anthem Little Bit of Love, leaving the arena on a high.
A night full of confetti, fire, brass, and singalongs – and the perfect way to mark the arena’s 32nd birthday. Cardiff, Tom Grennan gave you everything.
