New Urban High Street Goodsheds is Opening in Barry

A brand-new creative space is opening in Barry next Wednesday. The team behind The Tramshed in Cardiff, Loft Co, have designed another versatile place for South Wales creatives to inhabit and entertain the public.

Complete with top class restaurants, tech hubs, outdoor gym, cinema screens, farmers market and more, it is hoped the site will enhance Barry and cement it as a frontrunner for great Welsh towns for years into the future.

Gathering information from the local community, Loft Co hope to meet all local requirements without blowing the budget and offering sustainable rates to smaller businesses.

“We at Loft Co believe that Barry will be one of the great areas of Wales to live in the future in terms of its position with regards to four trains stations into the capital, blue flag beaches wonderful parks great schools and more importantly 21st-century amenity at the Goodsheds for everyone”

Some of the food venues opening in Goodsheds next week include; Meat & Greek, Indian street food vendors Tukka Tuk (who have also made an appearance at Sticky Fingers in Cardiff recently), hot sandwich connoisseur Mr Croquewich, Bab Haus Mex, Dusty Knuckle and Academy Espresso with Barry’s first Drive-thru coffee station and many more incredible local foodie havens.

Besides food there are a huge variety of other stalls. Anything from Labyrinth Records to Vintage Hair Salon. Many of these businesses are housed in the brand-new shipping container village making the whole site sustainable and modern, which Loft Co believes:
“will create an iconic new community for Barry that reflects its evolving and fast changing position”

They will also have a unique 16 person private cinema train, you will be able to order food that will be delivered through a hatch in the side of the train coach wall.

The renovation work of the old station platform is ongoing but when complete you will be able to take a steam train every Saturday and Sunday direct to Barry Island and back again.
