New Tapas Bar and Hotel Casa de Margarita is Coming to Penarth

In spite of the hardship faced by the hospitality sector, a new Spanish Tapas Restaurant and boutique hotel has opened in the next few days, and it is right on the Waterfront in Penarth! The new venue will be authentically Spanish featuring live entertainment, and it is expected to be an instant hit!

The restaurant is taking over the site vacated by James Sommerin earlier this year (who was forced to move out during lockdown), which is superbly located with fantastic views of Penarth Pier. From sneak peeks of the décor from Instagram, we can see that Casa de Margarita is going for a traditional rustic feel. Plenty of ornate wooden wine storage and decorative casks, you will feel transported to the Mediterranean as you dine by the sea.

Preparing for the expected boom in Staycations in the next few years, Casa de Margarita also has a nine luxury rooms upstairs for visitors to relax in and spend the night on the coast. It is themed as a ‘Secret by the Sea Boutique’ and of course all the fixtures and fittings are imported from Spain. With stunning sea views and plush double beds, Penarth is certainly about to have its bar raised for weekend getaways when the doors open soon.

The restaurant will open 9am and is not expected to cut the party short, closing late into the evenings. You can spend the time enjoying an extensive range of Spanish wines, Riojas, imported Lagers and Tapas bar. Everything, right down to the chefs, are Spanish ensuring you will feel engrossed in the culture every time you visit.

And it looks like your first visit can be just around the corner, because they are planning to open in the next few days! So, keep your eyes peeled and be prepared to Flamenco through Casa de Margarita’s doors very soon.
