The wait is finally over for the first edition of the Cardiff Wine Festival – and they are confident in becoming the best wine and spirit event in Wales!
After being postponed for the past two years, the festival finally has the green light to host their brand-new event at the Principality Stadium, which will take place on Saturday 25th June 2022.
The organisers believe Cardiff was missing a real wine event and so curated this special one-day festival in the heart of the city centre. The aim is to bring producers and consumers together by showcasing a whole host of unique wines from Italy and across the world. Attendees can expect to meet these small independent producers, of which there are over 40, and taste the wines on offer.
Not only that, the festival will also feature exhibitors of spirits such as the Pembrokeshire Gin co., a selection of Extra Virgin Olive Oils, as well as a range of artisan food.
The format of the event is a walk around wine tasting where consumers have the opportunity to sample in excess of 200 wines, accompanied by a tasting booklet to guide you through your wine tasting journey. Although the samples are unlimited, with so many options available, the organisers encourage the use of spittoons and urge people to drink responsibly.
This event gives people the chance to talk with unique wine merchants and taste as many wines as they like. The organisers of the Cardiff Wine Festival state: “We’d like to inspire a sense of curiosity in consumers to experiment with different wines that perhaps they normally wouldn’t, so grab a glass and discover the world through wine.”
The good news is, most wines, spirits and food products will be available to buy on the day and exhibitors may offer special discounts too.
The event will be held in the exclusive President’s Lounge at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff where ticketholders can enjoy a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Needless to say, under 18s are not permitted to enter the venue.
So, whether you’re a wine connoisseur, eager to find your perfect wine match, or want a new experience trying unique flavours, then Cardiff has the perfect event for you “…because wine is always the answer!”
Tickets are on sale now and the event will run over two sessions on June 25th: afternoon 1pm-4pm, priced at £25 a ticket and evening 5pm-8pm, costing £30 each.
