Cardiff Bay is preparing for a prehistoric takeover this summer as Jurassic Bay arrives for one weekend only, promising a packed programme of dinosaur-themed fun. Taking place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July, the free, family-friendly event will bring the excitement of the dinosaur world to life – just in time for the highly anticipated cinema release of Jurassic World: Rebirth.
Families can look forward to a range of interactive activities and entertainment spread across some of Cardiff Bay’s most popular venues, including The Red Dragon Centre, Mermaid Quay and Craft in the Bay. From fossil digs to live dinosaur encounters, there’s something to captivate all ages.
What to expect across the weekend:
- Live dinosaur meet-and-greets at The Red Dragon Centre and Mermaid Quay, offering a chance to get up close with lifelike prehistoric creatures.
- Fascinating fossil displays at The Red Dragon Centre, ideal for curious young minds.
- Dinosaur digs at Mermaid Quay where children can discover ancient ‘bones’ and uncover hidden history.
- Free creative craft sessions at Craft in the Bay, including mask-making and other themed activities.
- Cinematic screenings of Jurassic World: Rebirth at ODEON (Red Dragon Centre) and Everyman (Mermaid Quay) for those wanting to end the day with blockbuster action.
