Hozier returns to Cardiff

IRISH indie rock sensation Hozierreturns to St David’s Hall on Tuesday 17 Septemberas part of his eagerly anticipated Wasteland, Baby!tour.

 

The multi-platinum selling artist last played at the National Concert Hall of Walesin February 2016, and it’s expected to be another sell-out again. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 22 February via www.stdavidshallcardiff.co.ukand at the Box Office on 029 2087 8444, but you’ll need to be quick!

 

Hozier’s second album Wasteland, Baby!is to be released on Friday 1 March and features the amazing singles Nina Cried Power (featuring iconic soul acts Mavis Staples and Booker T), Movementand Almost (Sweet Music). Not only does Nina Cried Poweropen the album, but it’s already ready been a global smash with Barack Obama including it in his favourite songs of 2018 playlist!

 

The Irish singer born Andrew Hozier-Byrne stormed to worldwide wide thanks to his smash-hit single Take Me To Church (originally released as a free download in September 2013), which subsequently sold over 2 million copies and won a prestigious Ivor Novello award. His self-titled debut album was recorded in the attic bedroom of his parents’ home in Bray, County Wicklow, but Hozier quickly broke out of those confines to land slots on Saturday Night Liveand duet with Annie Lennox at the Grammys.

 

Wasteland, Baby!is the critically acclaimed follow-up, which has now amassed an incredible 2 billion streams on Spotify alone. The album has already sold over 850,000 copies in pre-sales in the UK – going platinum in the process – while it’s sold 4.4 million copies worldwide. Hozier’s total global streams now stand at a staggering 4.5 billion!
