Hidden Cardiff Cocktail Bar LowKey Launches New Nostalgia Filled Drinks Menu

Tucked away inside Duke Street Arcade, one of Cardiff’s most low key cocktail bars has unveiled a brand new drinks menu, and it comes with a thoughtful twist. LowKey, which is currently in the running to be named one of the UK’s Top 50 Cocktail Bars, has launched a carefully curated menu of twenty four cocktails, to get people talking again, and it is available now.

Owner Alex Taylor

The concept behind the menu looks back to a time before smartphones and social media took over nights out, when bars were places for proper conversation rather than constant scrolling. The team at LowKey say the noise of modern life can feel overwhelming and isolating, and that it has slowly chipped away at how people connect in social spaces.

Each drink on the menu is designed as a kind of nostalgic timestamp. The cocktails take inspiration from films, music and cultural moments from the past few decades, including themes linked to Ghostbusters, The Blair Witch Project and the Y2K era, when people genuinely believed the world might change forever. These references tap into shared memories, emotions and moments in time that many people instantly recognise.

Some of the drinks are playful and light hearted, others more reflective, but all are designed to spark conversation and connection. Whatever you connect with personally, one thing is certain. The cocktails are bold, beautifully made and pack enough punch to get tongues wagging.

LowKey’s calm, understated space makes it easy to forget you are right in the middle of the city, and this new menu only adds to that sense of escape. With the UK Top 50 Cocktail Bars rankings due to be revealed next month, it is already an exciting time for the bar. Until then, the new menu is ready to explore.

You can find LowKey hidden inside Duke Street Arcade, and the new drinks menu is available now.
