This is
Hamilton has arrived in Cardiff, and there’s no other words to describe it than sensational!
Following the incredible run of Wicked, the Wales Millennium Centre has once again proven itself as the ultimate destination for top-tier musical theatre this festive season. This Christmas, we’re spoiled for choice, and Hamilton is the jewel in the crown.
The groundbreaking production is the winner of 11 Tony Awards – including Best Musical – as well as seven Olivier Awards, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album and it is easy to see why.
For those who haven’t yet experienced the magic, Hamilton is a Hip-Hop History lesson and tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s Founding Fathers, charting his rise from an orphaned immigrant to a key figure in shaping America during the Revolution . Packed with ambition, rivalry, love, and loss, the story unfolds with an extraordinary blend of rap, hip-hop,RnB and traditional musical styles, making it a groundbreaking theatrical experience.

The cast is simply outstanding, still can’t get over how incredible they all were. Shaq Taylor is mesmerising as Alexander Hamilton, capturing every nuance of this complex character. Sam Oladeinde’s portrayal of Aaron Burr is captivating, giving us a layered, compelling antagonist. It feels almost unfair to single out individuals, as the entire ensemble is so god-damn-good. Touring productions rarely boast a cast of this calibre, but this one undoubtedly does. However if we had to reluctantly choose Billy Nevers shines as the flamboyant Thomas Jefferson and the spirited Marquis de Lafayette – his witty, sassy, toe-twinkling performance is a definite highlight. Meanwhile, Daniel Boys as King George had the audience in stitches with his impeccable comic timing, leaving us longing for more of his hilariously pompous , sarcastic character.
This is a production for everyone – whether you’re a history enthusiast, a lover of musical theatre, or just looking for an unforgettable evening out. With its fast-paced storytelling, meticulously crafted choreography, and the ingenious use of a rotating stage to slow and rewind time, Hamilton delivers moments of pure theatrical brilliance and modern storytelling that is relatable to anyone willing to watch.
Don’t miss your chance to see this revolutionary show. Hamilton runs at the Wales Millennium Centre from 26th November to 25th January. Book your tickets now – it’s an experience you won’t forget!
