Cardiff Bay is about to get a little more magical as The Red Dragon Centre unveils its brand-new festive installation: the Yellow Brick Road of Dreams. Launching on 22 November, the indoor trail will bring colour, charm and plenty of heart to the centre this Christmas — all while raising money for Dreams and Wishes, the Welsh charity dedicated to supporting seriously ill children and their families.

Visitors will be invited to follow the glowing Yellow Brick Road as it winds through the centre, with specially selected golden bricks honouring the children whose dreams have already been granted by the charity. At the end of the trail, guests can step beneath a rainbow arch for a festive photo moment and give a donation to help create even more magical memories for families across Wales.
The launch coincides with the big-screen release of “Wicked: For Good” at ODEON, and to mark the occasion, the centre will welcome two very special guests — Cardiff Bay’s own green and pink spell-casters — for a one-day appearance. The centre’s giant Santa will also return, complete with virtual falling snow to add an extra sprinkle of festive wonder.
This year also sees the launch of the Toys for Dreams appeal. Visitors are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys at the management suite by 13 December, ready for Santa to deliver to children spending Christmas in hospital.
With seasonal surprises, charity fundraising and plenty of festive photo opportunities, The Red Dragon Centre is embracing the true spirit of the season — because, as their campaign says, there really is no place like home for Christmas in Cardiff Bay.
