Death on the Nile Returns to Cardiff with a New All-Star Cast

Agatha Christie fans are in for a treat as Death on the Nile prepares to sail back into Cardiff as part of its major UK and Ireland tour. Joining the previously announced Mark Hadfield as the iconic Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, two familiar faces are stepping aboard: Glynis Barber as the glamorous author Salome Otterbourne, and Bob Barrett as Poirot’s trusted ally, Colonel Race. More casting announcements will follow.

The production is brought to the stage by Fiery Angel, building on the huge success of their recent sell-out tours of And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express. This latest thriller reunites playwright Ken Ludwig with director Lucy Bailey – whose courtroom staging of Witness for the Prosecution has become a phenomenon – alongside Agatha Christie Limited for the European premiere of this new adaptation.

Set aboard a luxury cruise ship gliding down the Nile, the story follows a newlywed couple whose dream honeymoon is shattered by a shocking murder. With long-buried secrets rising to the surface under the Egyptian sun, Poirot is left to navigate a tangled web of jealousy, deception and betrayal. Only his razor-sharp mind stands between the killer and escape.

Glynis Barber said:
“I couldn’t be more excited to be returning to the stage and working with the brilliant team at Fiery Angel and director Lucy Bailey. This iconic play keeps audiences on the edge of their seat and I can’t wait to be part of a cast that will bring this gripping drama to theatres all over the UK and Ireland.”

Bob Barrett added:
“To have the chance of being in one Agatha Christie tour with Lucy Bailey and Fiery Angel was special. To get to be in three is a great privilege I shall never forget.”

Death on the Nile will stop in Cardiff as part of its nationwide voyage, bringing mystery, glamour and Christie’s unmistakable suspense back to the city. Dates and ticket details will be announced soon.
