Watch JAWS on a rooftop overlooking the sea

Good news, film lovers! An open-air cinema is returning to Cardiff and Penarth, with an exciting line-up of outdoor screenings planned this year.

Lost Lands Cinema will be setting up camp on Penarth seafront this summer for a week-long event, ready to give us yet another fresh take on what it means to go to the cinema.

Lost Lands have already provided us with plenty of unique experiences, showing horror films in the confines of an old bank vault, revisiting cult classic The Lost Boys inside Ogmore’s Secret Garden, and welcoming Christmas with a screening of Elf in one of Cardiff’s oldest arcades. It’s always to exciting to find out what they’ve got in-store next.

This year’s events start on May 4th with a screening of The Last Jedi, followed by the 80’s favourite The Breakfast Club, before heading over to Penarth for 5 days of films on top of the Figtree restaurant on the seafront.

The pop-up cinema will also be involved in this year’s Mini Film Festival, with a run of short films due to take place inside the historic Duke Street Arcade. Cardiff Mini Film Festival is an annual event spread across the city, screening locally-made short films in order to support and celebrate Cardiff’s film-making talent.

Tickets for this year’s run of shows went on sale Monday, April 23rd.

Adults cost £12.50, children (three to 11) £7.00
