Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival line up for 2023

The popular  food festival will be running from Friday 7thuntil Sunday 9thJuly

 

The Cardiff Food and Drink Festival in Cardiff Bay has announced its exciting lineup of food, drink, and music for 2023. This year’s festival promises a bigger than ever experience with a mix of home grown favourites and exciting newcomers that will treat even the most discerning taste buds.

Taking place from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th July, the festival welcomes the Cardiff-based bakery ‘Let Them See Cake’ as one of its newcomers. Indulge in their delectable assortment of cupcakes, macaroons, cookies, and cookie sandwiches, guaranteed to please any sweet tooth. At the Producer’s Fair, you’ll also find festival regulars ‘The Garlic Farm’ showcasing their flavourful range of condiments and chutneys from the Isle of Wight.

For those with a penchant for Welsh Cakes, make your way to the Farmer’s Market to discover ‘Fat Bottom Welsh Cakes,’ another exciting addition to the festival. Alongside the traditional bakestones, they offer a selection of unique and unconventional variations that will intrigue and delight your taste buds. And don’t miss the opportunity to savour the wonderful world of gin with the festival’s debutant ‘Cascave Gin,’ presenting a delightful assortment of exquisite gins.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”30482″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Over at the Street Food Piazza, local favourites Bao Selecta, and Cardiff Market residents, will serve their mouth-watering bao buns for the first time. Expect braised pork belly, pickled mustard greens, peanut powder, and fresh herbs. Joining them are Canton Burger bar ‘Smokin Griddle,’ offering tantalising burgers with house-seasoned skin-on fries, and ‘MacDaddies Gourmet Mac and Cheese,’ infusing classic dishes with homemade marinades and incredible toppings like truffle and gold.

The festival’s lineup is a treat for all, says Cllr Jennifer Burke, Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks, and Events. Supporting independent businesses and offering a fantastic day out, the festival combines new stalls and beloved favourites.

This years Live music from hand-picked local talents at the bandstand is another festival highlight. From Balkan Gypsy Folk-punk to Rockabilly, Reggae, Latin Jazz, and Ska, a range of genres will grace the stage throughout the three-day event. ‘Siglo 6,’ a new Funk and Soul six-piece, kicks off Saturday’s festivities, while ‘Los Musicos’ brings a tropical party vibe on Friday. ‘Avanc,’ Wales’ National Folk Ensemble, reworks forgotten musical gems, and ‘The Pepperseeds,’ featuring Cardiff diva Dionne Bennett, delivers soulful sounds. Cardiff Bluegrass band ‘Taff Rapids Stringband’ entertains on Sunday, and ‘Eden Roots Reggae Band’ closes the festival on a high note.
