Cardiff’s BOOM BATTLE BAR is preparing for a busy month ahead with a series of events, offers and themed celebrations throughout May, culminating in what it describes as its “biggest ever bank holiday weekender”.
Located in the Brewery Quarter in Cardiff city centre, the multi-activity bar and events space will host a range of family-friendly sessions, drinks offers, and special events suitable for all ages, with organisers promising “a packed calendar of entertainment”.
From Monday to Thursday, between 4pm and 7pm, BOOM BATTLE BAR will offer a 2-for-1 deal on all cocktails as part of its midweek drinks promotion. The offer is aimed at after-work crowds and visitors looking to enjoy early-evening social events at the venue.
During the May half-term, the venue is launching a “Loaded Lunchtime” promotion. For £15 per person, guests will be able to enjoy one activity, a meal from the street food menu, and a drink. Food options include loaded fries, chicken tenders, and mac & cheese balls. The offer is open to families, with an emphasis on providing accessible entertainment for younger guests during school holidays.

The venue has partnered with Swansea-based drinks brand AU Vodka for a takeover of its outdoor space. The garden area will feature AU Vodka-branded décor, limited edition drinks, and a themed claw machine offering guests the chance to win merchandise and ready-to-drink cocktails.
To mark the launch, a free-to-attend Garden Party will take place on Friday, 23 May, with the first 100 ticket holders receiving a complimentary AU Vodka cocktail. The partnership also includes a new summer menu and exclusive cocktails added to the venue’s “BOMB” drinks list.
The venue will round off the month with a three-day bank holiday celebration from 23–25 May, described as the biggest weekend event in BOOM’s Cardiff history. The line-up includes:
- Friday 23 May: AU Vodka Garden Launch Party (free entry) and a Cocktail Masterclass event (£35pp), including three cocktails, three shots and food.
- Saturday 24 May: The “BIG BOOM Throwback Brunch” with 90 minutes of bottomless cocktails, street food, and a live DJ set, held at multiple times throughout the day (£35pp).
- Sunday 25 May: The “BOOZY BINGO Brunch” featuring throwback music bingo, live entertainment, and 90 minutes of bottomless cocktails and food (£35pp).
Additional activities and giveaways will be held throughout the weekend, including surprise games, competitions and entertainment.
