Cardiff is getting ready to roll up its sleeves once again, as the Big Cardiff Tidy returns this autumn from Thursday 26 September to Sunday 12 October 2025, following the incredible success of last year’s event.
In 2024, more than 450 volunteers came together across the capital to make a real difference to their communities – collecting over 1,000 bags of litter in just two weeks. With the help of schools, community groups, businesses and individuals, 45 clean up events took place in every corner of Cardiff, from St Mellons to Llandaff. Together, volunteers contributed an incredible 1,100 hours to keep the city’s streets, parks, and riversides looking their best.
Led by Keep Wales Tidy, Love Where You Live and Cardiff Rivers Group, the Big Cardiff Tidy is fast becoming a highlight in the city’s calendar, bringing people together to take pride in their local area.
Looking ahead to 2025, Keep Wales Tidy are calling on even more people to get involved and help build on last year’s momentum. Community groups, schools, and businesses are encouraged to register their own Big Cardiff Tidy events via the Keep Wales Tidy website, helping to create an even bigger city-wide clean-up effort.
Gareth Davies, Keep Wales Tidy Project Officer for Cardiff, said:
“Last year showed the power of collective action. Hundreds of volunteers gave their time to improve the city we all love, and the results spoke for themselves. We’re excited to see the Big Cardiff Tidy return this year and hope even more people will join us to make Cardiff cleaner, greener and an even better place to live.”
The Big Cardiff Tidy 2024 is funded by the Cardiff Resilience fund in partnership with Cardiff Council.
