A street art project is painting its way around Cardiff

Brightening up the city centre, PWSH representing creative company For Cardiff aims to make Cardiff more vibrant.

You may have seen the colourful picnic benches sat along Hills Street outside Miller and Carter Steakhouse Bar and Grill or plonked yourself on the ones outside Cardiff Castle encouraging coming together and al fresco dining, the design idea was that of For Cardiff and they’re not stopping there.

For Cardiff has funded PWSH Cardiff, a playful, pilot street art project with talented local artists who are painting murals across the city’s white landscape.

 ‘Let’s PWSH things forward’

After a dark lockdown for many, PWSH Cardiff are aiming to ‘PWSH things forward’ with their new creative and colourful ideas to make the city of Cardiff a better place to be, to bring positive thinking and mindsets to a city recovering from a pandemic.

Local emerging artists are involved in the PWSH project, taking over a spot and bringing their own creative ideas to the walls.

Head down to Cathedral Walk, outside Debenhams and Minsky’s Showbar and find the painters in action. One artist involved in the project Amber Forde.. said, “Cardiff is packed full of diversity and I think it’s incredibly important to showcase that. My pieces specifically include a lot of vibrancy and pattern work which I hope to brighten up people’s days with.”

PWSH are seeking approval from locals in Cardiff to continue the project into a yearly tradition of brightening up and changing the city as time goes by.
