Wander through a spectacular sea of flowers, create your own beautiful bouquet and enjoy one of South Wales’s most colourful summer experiences at Penllyn Estate.
Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen, in partnership with Pheasant Acre Plants, is delighted to announce the return of its much-loved PYO Flowers experience for Summer 2026, inviting visitors to slow down, reconnect with nature and immerse themselves in thousands of beautiful blooms.
Running from 1 August to 27 September 2026, the PYO flower field offers visitors the chance to wander at their own pace through stunning displays of over 80 varieties of dahlias as well as gladioli and sunflowers, all set against the breath-taking backdrop of Penllyn Estate, just outside Cowbridge.

Choose your favourite stems to create a bespoke bouquet to take home, with stems available from just £1.50 each. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful afternoon surrounded by flowers, the perfect family day out or picture-perfect moments—there’s something for everyone.
Exclusive: Discovering Dahlias with Chelsea Gold Medallist Rob Evans
Flower enthusiasts can take their visit one step further by booking Discovering Dahlias with Rob Evans (£45 per person).
Hosted by Chelsea Flower Show 18 times Gold Medal winner, Rob Evans, of Pheasant Acre Plants, this exclusive Walk & Talk offers a rare opportunity to learn from one of the UK’s leading dahlia growers. Guests will enjoy an informative guided walk through the flower fields, expert growing advice, a Q&A session, plus take home a hand-selected bunch of flowers and a flowering dahlia plant of their choice.

Family Adventures in Nature
Selected dates throughout the summer holidays will feature Bug Hunts (£8 per child), encouraging children to explore the wonderful world of insects and wildlife amongst the flowers. Designed to spark curiosity and inspire a love of nature, these hands-on sessions are the perfect way to get little ones outdoors during the holidays. Alternatively, visitors can check out the walking routes on our website and enjoy a stomp along public footpaths over the estate, starting and finishing at Forage.
Picture-Perfect Moments
Bring your camera—there are photo opportunities at every turn. Visitors can capture unforgettable memories amongst the flowers with a collection of vintage and floral installations, including:
- A vintage bicycle
- A classic Volkswagen Beetle – the iconic “Flower Power” car of the 1960s
- A stunning floral arch
- A flower field swing
- A vintage tractor
Whether you’re creating content, celebrating a special occasion or simply making memories with family and friends, the flower field provides a spectacular backdrop.
