The Welsh House will launch its very first restaurant and gin bar in Wales’s capital, opposite Cardiff Castle on High Street on Feb 2nd 2023, just in time for the 6 Nations and Wales’s first home game.

The concept is focused on supporting local Welsh suppliers, sourcing predominately Welsh produce and creating core Welsh partnerships. There will be a focus on sustainability throughout the business and ensuring that suppliers are aligned to this core value.

The Welsh House is backed by former Wales and British & Irish players Mike Phillips, James Hook, Shane Williams and Lee Byrne. It will stock their FabFour coffee and their Welsh Perthyn low alcohol gin both founded by the four Welsh rugby stars.

“We are excited to be a part of a business that represents Wales and supports Welsh businesses. The Welsh house will become the home of our fab4 coffee and Perthyn gin which is distributed by local company Castell Howell. The location of the venue is ideal being next to the iconic Cardiff castle and around the corner from the Principality stadium. We can’t wait to enjoy and experience The Welsh House with family & friends, see you for a gin soon’’ – Lee Byrne

The exciting new concept in the heart of Cardiff city centre adjacent to Cardiff Castle and the Principality stadium, has also received support from famed chef Marco Pierre White due to his close friendship with those creating the menu’s, Welsh Chef’s John Taylor and Daniel Crouch.

Both John and Daniel have spent time working with Marco Pierre White and his team at hiskitchen at The Rudloe Arms in Corsham, receiving invaluable knowledge and cooking techniques which helped them create the unique menus. One of the core suppliers selected for their finest cuts of meats and fresh fish is Gavin Davies from Pembrokeshire, following Marco’s recommendation for a Welsh supplier.

The Welsh House will boast comfort and sophistication. Including an all- weather outdoor gin terrace, which will provide an amazing backdrop for al fresco socialising, all year round.

The Welsh House experience isn’t high end or pretentious, it’s all about affordable quality experiences with family and friends. The business has hearty values, and the core offering is based upon value for money. Taking into consideration the current economic climate and cost-of-living crisis. HD screens throughout the venue will televise sporting events including the 6 nations, The Welsh House is now taking bookings https://linktr.ee/thewelshhousecardiff@TheWelshHouseCardiff
