Wyndham Cafeteria – new cafe serving up the best of Cardiff Market

A new cafe is opening in Cardiff’s historic Wyndham Arcade, on a mission to create the city’s best classic cafe breakfast.

The new Wyndham Cafeteria is taking a super local route to finding the best ingredients, by sourcing all of its fresh produce from Cardiff Market’s butchers, greengrocers and bakers.

The menu will be championing cafe classics like the full Welsh breakfast, proper bacon sandwiches and stacks of American-style pancakes.

Open from 8am to 3pm, Wednesday to Sunday, the all-day breakfast offer will aim to have an approachable focus on quality that is often missing when it comes to the classic ‘fry-up’.

Carrie Aspinall, the general manager of Wyndham Cafeteria explained:

“We were sad to see Servini’s close – we want to see our arcades thriving – so we decided to take over the site and do something about it, while supporting other independent businesses in the city centre.

“We’ve lost a lot of the traditional cafes from the city centre – places where you can go for a great sausage sandwich and a mug of tea. We’re bringing back what everyone loves about them – a simple menu of cafe classics, somewhere to stop for a chat over a cuppa – but doing it with great ingredients in a relaxed, stripped back venue.

“Opening in time for the Autumn Internationals we’ll also be doing things like Mimosas and Bloody Marys, so people can enjoy a proper match-day breakfast before the game.

“Being able to source all of the produce we need from Cardiff Market means people will be familiar with all the people that are supplying us – over time, we’ll also take inspiration from what we see there every day for our specials board and drinks menu.” she said.

Wyndham Cafeteria is a new city centre cafe concept, created by the team behind Cardiff’s Waterloo Tea brand.

Following a soft launch period, the Wyndham Cafeteria officially opens from Friday 12th November at 6-10 Wyndham Arcade.
