Cardiff is about to welcome a very unusual visitor to the Bay this summer, as the Galeón Andalucía arrives in the city to begin its 2026 European tour.
The striking full-size replica of a historic Spanish galleon will dock at Britannia Quay from 29th May until 7th June, turning part of Cardiff Bay into something that feels more like a scene from centuries ago.
Built to recreate the famous ships that once connected continents and crossed oceans during Spain’s great age of exploration, the Galeón Andalucía offers visitors a rare chance to step aboard and experience life at sea from another era.
With its towering masts, wooden decks and traditional design, the ship has travelled internationally and become a popular attraction wherever it docks, giving people the chance to explore areas of the vessel and discover more about the history of these iconic ships.
For a week, the Bay will become home to one of Europe’s most recognisable historic replica vessels, offering something a little different from the usual city attractions.
